Hook that holds down driver carpet, where'd mine go?

I recently finished my stereo install on my X. I had the entire car stripped, carpet and all, so I could easily route all my cables.
When I put everything back together, I noticed the hook that holds the driver side carpet is no longer there.

Does anyone know how or where this hook attaches to the body of the car?

You sound like me whenever I'm doing any work on my car.. always end up with "spare" parts lol.. It's probably lost somewhere underneath your carpet.

haha
I've got a bunch of extra little screws, I have no clue where they go.

There is a opening in the carpet, which looks like where the little hook would come out of, but I tried fishing around in there and found nothing.

Anyone else have any idea how this attaches to the car?

I lost 1 of mine last year because it kept popping off and I believe I one while I was vaccuming the inside I probably sucked it up. If I remember correctly its basically like a push clip. Just push it in and it will snap into place

I would just let it go how it is. i think those clips are dumb/pointless. there is enough grip under the matt to keep it in place. Good way to start weight reduction ;)

i lost mine too!

Well, I guess I'll just go without it.
I have to move my carpet every once in a while, but it's not my DD, so no big deal.

I just took my hooks off tonight as part of weight reduction, lol, but I did. If you lift the square flap you will see a hole where the hook press-fits into and then a 10mm bolt/screw to hold it in place.

Cool, thanks!
Mine probably snapped off, i never unbolted anything under the flap. But atleast now I know how it is connected if I wanted to get another one.
