Car won't move after snow storm
So I went driving out in the snow yesterday and the evo was of course a tank. But after sitting all day today I went to run out tonight and it will not move. I was trying to move it and started to get a clutch smell so I stopped. When letting out the clutch it wasnt even rocking like it was trying to move. Could the ebrake be frozen?(the light wasnt on). There was ice all between the tires and frame that I knocked out so it could very well be under the car too...Any ideas? I need to get to work tomorrow..:crap:

how long did you let it run before you tried to move it?

Brakes are frozen up with ice.

Frozen brakes for sure, I usually just get a bit more aggressive when that happens. You could always boil a kettle of water, splash it on the brakes, then go for a quick drive to dry them out.

Isn't it usually the cable that freezes, no where near the actual brakes, such that the kettle of water on the drums will do nothing?
It was that way on previous Mitsus. If you're lucky, a few yanks on the lever will free it. |
Probably frozen ebrake.

One thing I made sure to do after driving the Evo out in the snow. I took a wheel brush tool and cleared all the snow from inside the wheel after i parked it and didn't have a problem. So maybe try a hair dryer/heat gun on the wheels first to get them to loosen up, hopefully thats your problem.

Your brakes are frozen. Snow melts between the rotor and pads, then freezes when you stop driving. Give it a good go and it should break free, just dont ride the clutch too much while doing it. It happens all the time to me here in the canadian winters.
