'13 MR intermittently won't start

Turns over about 4 times then the starter stops with the key still turned. After I turn it all the way off and on again it usually starts.

how often is this happening for you? Ive had this happen maybe half a dozen times in 3yrs...

Bring it to the dealer :p It's a pretty much brand new car, you shouldn't be having these problems

Maybe its a Fast Key issue. Do you have the SS package?

If the OP has the SS, maybe try switching to the second key fob. Maybe (although it shouldn't be) the battery is dying in the first one?

Just had this happen on '12 GSR with SSS /FastKey

I am not going to waste time at the dealer. If you guys don't know what it is, they definitely will not. It's only intermittent so I'll just wait till it's reproducible reliably. plus I just got a tune and I'd want to put it back to stock first. They would surely just blame the tune and black list me.

I do have the fast key system. It's about a month old.

Try switching keys for awhile and see if that helps. or test the battery in the key you currently use to see if it is low.

they won't blame the tune

They shouldn't blame the tune. But what you have to worry about is if they notice the tune and make an annotation about it. Then if you have engine type problems in the future, I can see them then blaming the tune.

only if the part failure was related. If you blow your motor, yes. If your window won't roll down, no.

What I'm saying is you roll up to the dealer because your power window is out. Cool, they fix that window, your exhaust, tune, and intake has nothing to do with the window failure. But you don't think they will make an annotation in your service record about the mods on your car?

Thanks guys I'll try the other key.

They can redline your car, yes, but that doesn't void your warranty cart blanch

but it can complicate it. Depends I guess on how willing you are to fight, and how well educated you are about your rights.

The Fuel relay TSB originally was for the car intermittently not starting.

Have you checked the fuel relay? Even though the car is new, it may have a bad one. My 2012 needed a new relay at 12,000 miles. Old one clicked when shaken which means it's bad.
