MX1's or GSC S1's???

I'm trying to figure out which of these 2 cams to put in (MX1's or GSC S1's) based on my build thus far. My mod's list is in my sig but in addition to cam's I'm also putting in the FP MHI turbo which I've already purchased. For the fuel system I'm leaning towards FIC 1100's and the Walboro 255. I know these 2 cams have been out for a while now and I have read some of the older threads but would like to know if anyone has anything new to add to help me make a decision...

FWIW, I plan on doing MX1 since they don't require new springs/retainers if you're not going to increase the stock rev-limiter.

I'd like to get them installed without removing the head as well (not an uncommon practice from what I can tell...depending on the shop) so the gasket, etc. don't have to be messed with, just more peace of mind, IMO.

I think the GSC S1's might be slightly more aggressive, and I believe recommend the installation of new springs/retainers.

Up to you how much work/hassle/risk you want to assume. I've heard good things about both cams, not sure how much difference you'd be able to tell between the two. Both would be awesome with the MHI (the turbo I plan on going with myself eventually), IMO.

Since I'd like a "less invasive" procedure done on my car, I'm going with the MX-1. :D

Let us know what you do!

I have s1 cams. They are drop in cams.

S1 Atr drop in no valvetrain needed.

You guys are right, sorry!

And it looks like the MX1 have slightly more duration & lift (266 vs 264) than the S1, my bad.

Yeah from what I've been reading they both are drop in and doesn't seem like I can go wrong with either. Initially I was looking at going with the RED but the price difference between that in the MHI seems like a no brainer to me. Also im still on the stock block and will be a while before I get built. Hell I bought the car July of 2012 and I only have 9000k on her. If I can hit somewhere between 400 and 430 at the wheels and keep the Tq to 160 or below I would be more then happy :) Really what I would like to see is someone running the MHI with pretty much the same bolt on's as me and see what the power curve looks like on the S1's and the MX1's.. The deciding factor for me at this point is which one of the 2 has more bottom to mid power. I think that's where the funs at!

I'm looking for the same set-up/dyno graph's myself. Post if you come across them.

I agree with you on the low/mid-range power, it's exactly what makes the stock power delivery so much fun, don't want to ruin that.

I guess I've heard more about the MX1. Not to say GSC is bad, I've just only heard/read about the S2's when it comes to that company's products.

I typed in evo x MX1 dyno results and got a few dyno's from that. Nothing really conclusive though... But if u look at the price difference between the 2 the MX1's are about 200.00 and some change more expensive then the S1's so it could be one of those things u get what u pay for??? But when u read the product info on the S1's, the thing that catches my eye is they state and I quote "will not sacrifice any bottom end loss over stock cams; nothing but gains and will promote faster spooling of the upgraded turbos" where as the MX1's are a little vague in their product description... I really wish more people would chime in on this even though I know its an older topic!
