Won't Start, Won't Move?
Got a quick question for you guys... I have a Evo X MR. Last week it wouldn't start for some reason, and I have a tow truck arranged to pick it up Monday morning and take it to a local garage to see what's wrong before I head to work. I decided to make sure everything is good to go today and for some reason, I can't get this car to move an inch by pushing it.
I'm starting to get really concerned that the tow truck won't be able to get it out of my garage without those jacks with wheels, and that will cause a major problem getting it onto the flat bed. Worse yet is if we decide to just winch it up to the truck and something isn't right, I'm scared it may rip something off the car or break a part of the drivetrain. Does anyone know what could be happening? I can hear the transmission go into Neutral so I don't think it's not going into "N." Is it just too heavy for one person to move it? My girlfriend is all of 100lbs and is at work so I doubt she'll be much help . |
e-brake?
Been sitting long? Was it raining when you parked? That can cause the pads to "stick" making it hard to roll. does it rock back and forth at all? |
No, it was mobile last week. I did wash it then pull it in. I was also suspecting sticky brakes. I'll have to check when I get home again. Can I bleed the brake fluid out to release them since it won't start? This just doesn't make sense.

I can't remember if there is a tow hook or something on the back, but if u have another car or truck to hook a strap to you could pull it out.

Ebrake/ in gear, jack up front in, throw ramps under front tires. Take off ebrake and let it roll down
|
Worst case, you could use a set of go-jacks and roll it around like that.

is the tranny seized?
|
Do you have fast key system?
|
Any luck getting to the bottom of the issue?

Thanks for all the help and advice everyone. I'll post again once the shop tells me what was wrong. |
Happens sometimes when they're wet and the car gets parked. Usually when you first start to drive they break lose. I'd just give it a yank with another car.
|
Has the car started since you made this post? I'm guessing you have the fast key because you have an MR

Turns out my fuel pump relay was bad and the brakes were seized because they rusted over. Car is all good now and retuned to 425whp. Allllllriiiightt.

Do you/did you have the SSP Fuel relay package?
