Maybe I'm not fit for a AWD car.

What is the noise i hear when i'm creeping in first an the car jerks back an forth and i hear a noise in the front.....Sounds like 2 metal pins smacking off each other?

ak47po Jun 4, 2014 09:19 AM

What type of clutch?

Stock...20,000 miles

GaBe511 Jun 4, 2014 09:28 AM

Sounds like not enough throttle.

Jerm6908 Jun 4, 2014 09:45 AM

I don't think its the clutch either...If it was something serious the check AWD light would come on right?

ak47po Jun 4, 2014 09:47 AM

These cars make noise get over it.

I would have never guessed....

If you really are causing the car to jerk, then you're also shifting weight fore and aft, which will cause the load on the front suspension to rise and fall rapidly, and the upper shock mounts on our cars are junk.

Maybe manual transmissions aren't for you. Every manual I've driven is jerky and noisy when driving slow in 1st gear. Just go faster! {thumbup}

Jerm6908 Jun 4, 2014 12:29 PM

I been driving sticks since i was 16 i am 25 now...i could go 1 mph with no throttle in my front wheel drive cars do it in this car it rocks back an forth like its gonna stall out an makes that metal on metal noise coming from the front end....Should i ride the clutch so i don't have this problem...I prefer not to.

I just wanted to know if anyone knew what that noise is coming from the front end its something in the differential for sure an like i said it sounds like a pin smacking off a piece of metal.

TravisF Jun 4, 2014 12:36 PM

It's a heavy ass car powered by a tiny 2.0L that can barely move it without the turbo, you're not going to have an awesome time trying to drive 1mph. I want to kill myself having to slow down to 10-15 for school zones sometimes.

SilverShadow03 Jun 4, 2014 12:39 PM

You are not giving it enough gas so you are on the verge of stalling out.

Why are you crawling around at 1 mph anyways? Trying to be like Vanilla Ice or something?

Aaa

Noo it's when i leave this one gas station i pull around the back to leave but the only way to leave around that way is go threw 1 of the manual car washes soo i give it gas to to start going then let off to slow down soo i don't bottom out thats when it does it.....

That noise you are hearing are the gears either in the tranny/front diff/transfer x or all together smacking up against one another as you are jerking the car around in first gear driving, sorry..creeping along at 1 mph.
