Evo won't start, little play in brake pedal
Went to start the Evo today and it wouldn't start. Also noticed that there is very little play with the brake pedal. All the hoses look good. Battery tested as "weak" but still green.. Any ideas?

Well try jumping the battery or just replacing it first. I doubt the brake pedal has anything to do with it.

does it crank when you try to jump it?

Have you checked your relays and your spark plugs?
|
So I ended up buying a new battery and it started up on the second try. Thankfully it wasn't anything serious. Weird though since the original battery was testing out as fine. I will check again tomorrow to make sure the issue is resolved. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

That exact thing happend to my DD car. Was perfectly fine the day before never showed any signs of getting weak. Came out the next day it barely started and then turned it off and tried to restart it and it was gone. Was kind of wierd usually they kind of show some signs of dieing first at least in my experience.

Brake pedal is firm until the car starts and then vacuum builds for the vacuum-assist power brakes.
Batteries can fail internally and yet the green light (chemical composition) is still indicating 'good'. |
all batteries can fail prematurely. they tend to swell, seem bloated.
