Lancer Evolution X Total USA Production Numbers
 

I had never seen this anywhere, so I asked Mitsubishi Motors North America. Here are the official production numbers for USA:

For your comparison, these are the best numbers I have found on this board for Evo VIII & IX. It seems the Evo VIII & IX sold about the same number of cars combined as the Evo X, although they did so in half the number of model years.

Total USA Evo VIII & IX: 21,047

That doesn't seem accurate. I owned a 2012 MR touring.

Edit: see below post, the numbers are correct after all, the 2011+ Touring option was an option package rather than a trim. So, those cars are lumped in with the regular MRs in above numbers.

It might just be how Mitsu named it. The MR Touring might have been a trim level. But then later it was changed to a MR with the touring package.

Based on some quick research, you are correct. For 2011+ it was changed to the Touring Package, which was a package rather than a separate trim.

So, these numbers above are likely correct after all, it just has the 2011+ MRs all as one rather than separating by regular vs. Touring.

Why only 11 of MY 2009?

From what I was reading there was a lot of unsold inventory from the 2008 model.

Right, the official line was actually that no 2009 cars were produced. The 11 shown here are likely some sort of company or press cars.

Is there a way to search DMV databases to see how many of those are still on the road? I'm curious to see how many out of the 22,202 produced are still operational.

Consumer reports says that the average vehicle lifespan is 8 to 10 years. Seeing as how these are collector level vehicles i'm willing to bet that there are more left than the usual, but there were not that many produced or bought in the first place. There is a UK website called "how many left" that revealed only roughly 50% of evo 8's were left in 2018 in the UK. These being the ones that are registered and driven. That could give us a very rough idea of how many are left here. Many are crashed/parted out around the world each month.

The production numbers are interesting. For whatever reason, I thought the production numbers would be higher.
