Need help with LED taillights (vland)

I just installed the vlad led tail lights and I found an issue with its reverse lights. Whenever I put my car on reverse, the reverse lights will only stay on for 5 seconds and then turn off. I found that the load resistor that came with the package is a gold one which is different from the black ones that they showed on their website. I need help figuring out if the load resistor they sent me is too weak and recommendations for a good load resistor.please help me. I tried replacing the resistor that it came with to test if that was the issue but even with the resistor replaced, it still turns off after 5 seconds.

are the reverse lights LED bulbs that can be swapped with incandescent bulbs? Could try that and see if they stay on.

I had similar problem where one tail light would go out after a little bit. I didn't have any load resistors at the time though.

I also have an Evo X MR and I just installed my tail lights of the same brand and now my reverse light and backup camera turn off after about 5 seconds. I also got that little gold resistor instead of the black ones I saw on the website, were you able to find a fix??

I don't know how a load resistor can be "too weak". That sounds pretty silly to me.

The idea of installing a load resistor is simple. As the LEDs draw less current, they will create less voltage drop at the source. As your BCM measures the current by looking at the voltage drop, you need to create additional voltage drop because the current draw created by the LED is so much less. To this end, people use load resistors in parallel with the original load to create additional draw- similar to what the original bulb would draw.

Use ohms law, and kirchoffs current law to determine the necessary resistance to "fool' the circuit. Do not forget with additional current draw the WATTAGE will need to be there to dissipate the raw heat created. This is why your resistors have large aluminum heat sinks.

It does not matter if they are gold, black or any other color. It can be pink with polka dots as long as they create sufficient current flow, and can dissipate the heat. I like to use a variable resistor to dial in my resistance to the perfect value as high as possible to fool the BCM. I recently built a set of LED tail lights by hand for my Evo and did this.

I have been having the same issue.I just installed mine this summer while a guy across the street has the same tail lights and his works fine I cannot figure this out, I have been searching online For quite some time and it seems like other people have the same problem but it seems like there’s no answer to the problem, Have any of you guys figured this out yet?

Hey mate, I had a bit of trouble with finding a straight answer but all you have to do is add a load resistor to the wiring of the tail lights and it fixes the issue.
