I'm Able To Move My Traction Control Button?!
Hey Yal,
I'm in the process of taking trim pieces off my car and putting some felt on them to muffle. I just took the panel off where the traction control is and within the harness, there are two plugs that are plugged into the button, and into a dummy button. Does anyone know that the harness comes with two plugs or just one? I don't understand why there was one plugged into the dummy switch. What I want to do is move the switch to the far left. I managed to move the AYC button on the center console to the far left which looks better to me. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...1c3eb33706.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...3213ac643d.jpg One plug was plugged into the far left. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...08fca93853.jpg |

Thank You Ever So Much.
I gave up. them switches are a ***** to figure out. So, weird they included that second plug when my car never came with HIDS. I got the car used as well. Honestly how can I tell if I did have HIDS? https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...00e2cf4f7c.jpg Here's my order sheet. |
States halogen lights in that sheet. You do not have hids.
The wire is there for the reason Biggiesacks mentioned. Reusing harnesses across trims |
My bad, and thank you. If it's not to hard to get HIDS installed, mine as well do that down the road.

And we all know the horror stories of the STEALERSHIP!
THANKS |
There is an etacs decoder fb group that has the etacs decoder software and discussions. I've downloaded it and set it up but have yet to do anything with it. Plan is to disable the TPMS..

I have designed looms for IndyCar, IMSA, LeMans. Highly recommended building a mock-up with rope, string, tape and foam boxes. It will help you appropriately locate boxes, transitions (branches), connector orientation, (boxes need to be removeable), determine potential wear points, and vulnerability in case of a crash (maybe not an FSAE concern). When you measure for lengths add 5-10% or so (maybe others will comment). I even just did a mock up with my gokart project.
Now building a loom is a different topic, doing it properly pro-level is a skill...but for FSAE not required so don't stress, just make it clean simple and above all reliable. I would recommend seeking advice from the motorsport wiring alliance group on facebook which is full of pro-level loom builders 9apps apk |
