Oil Pressure gauge

Anyone try to install an oil pressure gauge yet? If so where did you place the sendor?
I notice two spot right on top of the oil filer..one being a brass colored plug (when loosened has a spring tension thingy on the inside) the other being an allen screw that is a real bugger to even try to get loose?
Any ideas?

You would want to use the one with the allen screw. It is really hard to access to remove and place a screw in there without taking apart the undertray. I placed a oil temp sender in this location a couple of days ago. So far no leaks so its looking good.

With the oil pressure, you'll want to extend the port a little bit for extra clearance because of the oil pressure sending unit.

I installed my oil temp gauge sensor in the plug over the oil filter pretty straight forward.... I also installed a oil pressure sensor by removing the factory oil pressure sensor in the side of the block under the intake manifold and putting a tee in then installing both sensors... I must admit this was a pita!!

Picture of tee for oil pressure sensors.. under intake mani.... after about 12 tries this was the best i could do....

This is a pic taken stright down from the top just by opening the hood looking down at the oil filter housing

^^^^^Couldn't you just tap into where you did the oil temp sensor for the oil pressure, should be the same thing.

I'm thinking the same thing... does anyone know the size of the bolt that is in the oil filter housing? It's too large for the oil pressure sensor on my AEM gauge so I'll need an adaptor...

The hole is 3/8 BSP. You will need a metric to 1/8npt adapter which is pretty difficult to find. At the moment, 42draft designs sells them.

What most ahve been doing is using a brass 3/8 to 1/8 npt adapter from Home Depot/Lowes. Its close and seals accordingly using teflon tape, but note the thread pitch is "SLIGHTLY" different. It will work, but some may not feel comfortable with it.

^^Yeah I could of just did that but I wanted the temp sensor more in the direct flow of oil for a better reading not spaced out with a bunch of fittings to get all the sensors in the same spot

I would prefer to use the side of the block as well for my oil pressure gauge... so what size "t fitting" did you use? Can you post a link from where you picked it up??

^If your gonna go in the side of the block it is a 1/8th inch Factory sensor so I just got a 1/8th inch nipple and tee From the hardware store. Try to get stainless fittings too if you can

there is an adapter that goes where the oil filter is. You screw the adapter to the block, and then the filter to the adapter. The adapter has ports on it for sensors. Ill see if i can find it, i forget where it saw it.
