Wideband Install Question
Wideband Install Question
I am going to install a wideband hopefully next weekend. I was planning on following the boost gauge install for part of it. Does anyone have any advise on how to hang the wiring from the test pipe back into the engine bay. Any advise on snags people found when they were doing theirs? Any general info would be helpful thanks!
I would *not* follow those instructions as they'll have you running wires all over the place (I started down that path, but the guy I was doing it with pointed out that having wires all over the place wasn't necessarily the best idea).
I pulled the cable from the sensor up through the same grommet as the primary o2 sensor. The LC-1 control module is behind my center console. I ran the serial cables to the glove box and ran the gauge into the cubby below the ac controls. We tapped power from the cig lighter and there's a ground right there in the center console that we used.
Everything is clean and nicely tucked away.

I didnt even think about following the stock O2 hehe. I think I might mount it on the steering column or the dash in the back corner. Do you have any problems seeing the gauge in that location? I did the AEM UEGO btw, dont know if that matters. Thanks for the reply.
Well, it's not like I watch the wideband constantly, but I can steal a glance when I need to to see how things are looking. I know some people put them in their glove box (why?).
Even if you ran it to the dash or column, going through the primary o2 grommet will be a lot easier and safer.

question, what fuse should I wire my 12volt wire to for my UEGO? I have my boost gauge 12volt going to my "lighter" fuse.
( I had a UEGO once b4 but sold it, I actually ran my wire up underneath the passenger seat, underneath the carpet and around the console & up onto the steering column. I just cant remember what fuse I had the 12volt wire going to )

I pretty much did exactly what goofy already said, but my WB is the AEM like yours. I'm tapped right into the back of the cig lighter for power. No issues. Placement will be fine.

But can someone answer the bolded part??? Please thanks
A neat little trick is if you flip the lid of the ash tray up, the aem wb will fit perfect on it, just wedge it on between the bolts and the cable connectors. The benefit of this is you can easily remove it to tuck in the cubby so would be thieves can't see it.
