LOL, this is funny to me because I just purchased the aluminum knob from the dealership today. I've wanted this and the ebrake grip since I got my X so I finally got the knob today when I took the car in for warranty work. Damn if I'm paying what mitsu wants for the ebrake handle grip though, it's stupid expensive.

^I don't think they exactly came with the car, I think you paid for an extra "sport package" that included the cost. Unless you got it thrown in with a crazy deal! If so....NICE!!! lol

yeah i got a sick deal, i paid 35k a fully loaded 40k msrp gsr. every single package imaginable lol. so i kinda did get them for free. but i really like the ebrake handle. maybe in the future when i find a better shift knob ill get rid of the aluminum one.

Wait for a very hot day and when the car is 'baking in the sun all day'. The inner plastic piece, or whatever you have (I have a IX) inside will then be softened-up. Then twist it off with a STRONG grip and it will come off! You'll see! Lol! Good luck!
