So I'm giving this a try today and so far I have everything together the Distribution Block for Power but every time I plug in the fuses they blow out! So am I missing something or do I have to hook everything I'm connecting to it first then plug them in? Help please

You'd have to run two wires to every device with a ground block instead of just running a short wire from the device directly to a ground close to it. I'm sure there's a good reason for doing this, but I can't figure it out. Can someone explain?

Just used this how-to to install WB, boost gauge, radar detector, and iPhone charger this weekend. Thanks for a great write-up! I definitely felt a lot better about installing that stuff knowing that I wasn't hacking up any of my factory wires. I had a DSM with electrical problems, and it was a nightmare, so I'll gladly take any precautions to avoid that.

Anyone ever have any issues with drawing to much power out of fuse source? I would be worried that I would be running to many items at once from the one fuse. Also would this be considered like wiring gauges in parallel?

Anyone connect a micro USB device to the block? I'd be interested to see / read how you did it.

Got a question, why do you have 3 power lines (fuse taps) for 2 gauges? I must be missing the boat, or not reading carefully. Is one to the hazards fuse for dimming?
Finally, could you only have 1 fuse tap going to the cig. lighter fuse for many gauges?
Or do you need one tap for each gauge?

Well it leaves room for expansion and it is best to run the wideband on it's own. Separating it keeps the gauge reading accurately and while data logging. But again it all depends on your set up and power requirements for the gauges you choose to use. I have seen some require 12 volts and others only need 5 volts. So do what is best with what you have.

Bringing this one back up from the dead. Does anyone know where to find the terminal bridge for the barrier strip? All the Radioshacks near me do not have them and are not available on their website.

This is one of the most helpful how-tos I've come across so far. I was looking for a way to power my gauges without cutting into the cars harness and keep everything clean looking under the dash. Thanks to the OP for the idea.
