I ordered an AMS wide mouth and test pipe, is it possible install these parts without a cat back and not have any issues? Will it connect to the turbo without any mods, or what would I need to get to run it properly?
Your running a AMS DP w/ a TP to your stock exhaust? and wondering if it will work?
Yes everything should fit properly. But you might throw a CEL. You should have also gotten the 02sensor spacer.
Why didnt you upgrade your exhaust?

Upgrade the full exhaust and get an O2 sensor cheater off ebay to avoid a CEL. You will not find much gains with an aftermarket DP on a X because the piping is very short.
Upgrading just the DP and TP will cause back pressure because the catback of the exhaust is smaller diameter which I cannot imagine being good for the turbo.

Im working on it lol I spent over $3000 on mods already and dont have the $800 to finish it off. O2 sensor spacer what advantage does that give? I havent gotten my bits yet, just want to get all needed first. Im going with the AP cat bacl when I get the other funds. im paying off a FP red and Exedy twin clutch so money is tied up!

Yup that would be it. This is used to space the O2 farther out from the exhaust gas stream so the correct readings are taken within an aftermarket exhaust setup. Basically tricking the ecu if im not mistaken. If I was you i'd wait till you have the full setup before installing the DP/TP.

ok very cool I will go ahead and order that, some reason I was thinking the spacer for the throttle body lol
Is there anything else? Should I wait to install it all, or is it cool to add these, then add cat back later?

well from what evo unknown said "Upgrading just the DP and TP will cause back pressure because the catback of the exhaust is smaller diameter which I cannot imagine being good for the turbo". I'd wait before you have problems.
Well if you have a turbo upgrade, but not bolt ons yet, you did the order backwards my friend. Bolt ons should be completed first or at the same time.
Get all the parts together that you need, and supporting modifications, and although it may be so hard to look at a pile of shiny parts that will make your car move faster, wait and install them all at once. Think about it, if you are doing the turbo then you will be in the same location to do the exhaust all at once.
