I swapped mine to a amber bulb and they look aggressive as hell.

Funny... I just went out to buy a replacement bulb for my DRL (left one) which just went out... I'm done with the install but I just came here looking for another How-To (rotors) when I find this in the first page... I was like "lol what are the odds"

Anyhow, yes it's very easy but a PITA cause its hard to fit your hands in there.. black cover comes off by twisting it, same as the bulb assembly... you just have to play around witht and try not lose your patience lol

That was ridiculous. What kind of peanut brain engineer decided to have such limited access to a light that's on nearly 100% of the time. Obviously a DRL is a consumable item that will need replacing multiple times during the life of the vehicle. As if that wasn't bad enough, you get to twist, bend and contort around the hood stand in a futile attempt for an angle with any sort of leverage. Brilliant.

For those of us without the hands of 6 year old child...I strongly suggest needle nose pliers, a long flat head screw driver, shop gloves to minimize all the hand abrasions, beer and ibuprofen. Better yet, pull the fuse.

Remove the stock DRL bulbs, put LED strip to the bottom edge of a headlight

Before switching to LED strips, I used to have 4 different bulbs in DRLs.

Stock "Boring Yellow":

LED #1 "Useless crap":

LED #2 "Long live the Cree":

They were quite nice but overheating in 5 minutes and had failed soon.

35W 1156 Halogen Bulb "Perfect for side lighting":

I will put them back once my AFS is ready.

sorry to revive an old thread but my pass. corner light has been out for the longest, so while ordering some leds for something else i decided to throw those in there as well.

i knew it would be a PITA, but damn, this is ridiculous. i didnt want to take the bumper off b.c of the way my ssp undertray is set up lol

Anywho, It's deff. good to point out that you need to apply pressure while turning. You should move the small fuse box on the drivers side and the coolant overflow res. out of the way on the pass. side.

But now that i got my leds in. My pass side still doesn't work. Soo im at that point of pulling the corner fuse out. Can someone tell me which is the correct fuse to pull b/c ive gone through the ones in the main fuse box in the bay and i cant find it??

Edit: NVM got it

I recommend using an allen wrench to help turn the stalk. It has a groove in it like its normally turned with a tool. Helps me bigtime

Smile It Can be done

I was able to accomplish this with a little research and tenacity. I found that the bulb housing is easier to get out when you push in on the housing and then it pops right out. I recommend that you take the antifreeze tank and the washer fluid stem and move them out of your way on the passenger side. On the drivers side you have to move the battery to get at it. I chose to use LED lights and I like the look, we'll see how long they last.
