Well not sure if mine was one that was built just at beerthirty on a Friday, my heat shield tabs were bent off not aligning up very well having to rebend them a few times to get it to sit right, and the coupler to the turbo could use another .500 on the fat end to the intake pipe in length to make it a little better IMO. My heat shield was black and the pipe brushed witch I figured everything would be brushed?

I just installed a similar intake (k&n typhoon) I wish I read this before I installed it. ..specifically step 7. Getting that hose on the inlet before it's on the pipe.

I know this is years old now but, I have this intake and pipe coming in the mail right now. Has anyone done a base line and then a dyno of just this intake and pipe without anything else? With no boost controller or anything? I am installing this on a completely stock 2013 EVO X and would like to know realistically what to expect. Eventually I will either get a tune or Cobb AP but for now it's stock. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if there is any tricks to removing and putting on hoses and such because those things are almost glued on, and then putting lines back on some of the nipples is almost impossible lol.

Total install took me about 4 hours mostly just trying to get stuff on/off but eventually I managed lol.

The intake did throw CEL for me... but I'm getting tuned in 2 days so it doesnt really matter, although I was surprised because I thought this intake wasnt supposed to cause CEL.

Love the sound of the intake, you can really hear it, you can even hear the stock BOV

really crappy video, you can kinda hear the intake... took it with my phone. This is just minor accelerating, not gonna WOT until the tune to be safe

Oh, I wana add one more thing. The heat shield I got did NOT fit flush on the factory bottom bolt like the picture in the guide. No matter what I did or how I adjusted the fitment of the intake it would not sit flush, so I had to secure it the best I could and live with it

Yeah, we had to bend the bracket a few times until we got it to fit just right

Yep!!! I installed mine tonight. I had the same issue. The tab that mounts using the factory air box bolt was bent up from ETS....it really doesn't look like it should be bent, it should be flat. I simply bent it flat and it bolted down fairly easily.

The car runs great too!!
