Just pull/push up on it. Had to get a new windshield so I saw them do it. All that is left is a metal base that the mirror slides on to from the top. Hopefully that makes sense.

If it's like the Evo8 you just pull up and away. It's got a spring loaded clip that holds it on, so when it comes loose hold on to it. I accidentally threw mine into the back seat! haha I twisted mine slightly side to side to help it come loose.

OMG dude dont listen to them, its held on by glue. A friend tried that and it destroyed the window. Go to a glass place and ask them to do it, or see if there is a special chemical to break the glue up!
btw sexy mirror!

Don't remove the mounting tab from the window! If you have to adhere the tab back to the window, it won't be as strong as the original adhesive. Get a small flat screwdriver, and gently pry the spring loaded arm away from the mounting tab, then lift the mirror base up toward the headliner to remove it.

I think it varies from car to car just take it to a local glass shop and they can figure it out for you I mean would u rather pay like ten bucks or pay for a new windshield?

????????????????
Its held on by a hex bolt ..
Remove the bolt .. and SLIDE THE MIRROR OUT TOP ..
its a wedge shaped profile that only allows 1 direction removal
The windshield side is PERMANENTLY ATTACHED to the windshield

The button on the windshield is on there pretty good though. I've removed several recently from cars in the junkyard (for the mirror I want to mount) and none of them were this tough. I'm going to give it a go again today and see where it gets me. Worst case, if the windshield cracks, it has enough chips in it from the sand they lay down here when it snows, that I probably wouldn't mind having a new one anyway. We'll see...

The last thing you want to do is have that windshield button come off!
Hit it with a hammer? WTF! All you have to do is pry (very easy, should not require ANY force) the cover off, then lift the tab at the bottom (away from the windshield, toward you) and slide the mirror up (toward the sky) and off the cam mount.

My rear view mirror came flying off when I turned a corner! Might give that a shot. Make sure your windows are up or it might go flying out!
I figure the bumpy roads had slowly loosened it to the point it was barely hanging on to the tab on the windshield. I slid it back down on the tab and it's been fine since.
