I'm looking to get one of those pre-cut headlight and tail light films to put on my apex silver Evo X GSR.

Do they last a long time?

And is it better to properly smoke out the lights rather than putting on the films?

 

If your going for the black out look then yes get a cheap film online somewhere first and make sure you like the way it looks (I don't but hey its not my car), and if you do take it to a shop that will properly paint the lights black, it should cost you around $200 or so for the tails and the heads but its worth it because the cheap film stuff will have air bubbles and wont look as clean...

 

Putting on the films will give you a second chance if you don't like the look. Here is a site that sells it;

They have instructional videos for putting them on, and no bubbles if you do it right

Saw this site when browsing youtube, haven't bought from them before.

 

i put the precut stuff first and liked it, it started to peal off after 2 months so i just got the lights painted now they look 1000000000 better
