yes, spraying with a gun will yield a smoother finish. I have sprayed large flat surfaces with a can before and it never comes out smooth. you always see streaks and high spots.

Here's a little teaser for my soon to be summer wheels. Originally bought the blaze yellow to go on my stock wheels for winter but waited too long and by time I needed winter tires I didn't want to take the time to paint. Just came across the dip in my garage and figured why not, so I threw some on my AME TM-02's to see how I like it. still undecided but I'll be shooting the other three wheels in the coming days and rock it for a bit. Worst case I decide I don't like it and peel it off!
Anyways here's a pic.
