Video: MHI 18k vs GTX3576r roll race
A lot of people are considering these two turbos for stock block cars, I hope this helps a little. Both cars are basically identical, FBO on e85 fuel. GTX car is on an ETS exhaust manifold MHI is on stock exhaust manifold. Both cars are slowpoke tuned.

Yeah the details are on youtube... mine is the MHI/camera car.
You are correct. I'm making around 450whp/370wtq full boost by 4k rpm. He is making closer to 500whp/380wtq and spools about 500 rpm later but top end on the GTX is awesome.

Excellent! A great comparison of two configurations that are, and becoming increasingly popular for the, "daily" Evo 10 turbo upgrade seeker. What kind of mpg are you both getting?

I average 13 city/ 15 highway on straight e85, usually about 160-180 miles before I have to fill up. And that is not boosting a lot, I probably average 1 good pull per drive other wise I am just crusing.

I just looked up the specs on the 18k and the better match in the Garrett line is the GTX3071R. I'd expect the MHI 18k to run out of steam at around 480whp and I expect the GTX3071 to do 500whp. The 3576 is really a 600whp turbo. All on E85 of course. So the GTX3071 will spool a few hundred rpm faster than the 3576, again making it close in performance to the 18k.

I have a GTX3071R with supporting mods like full bolt ons, GSC s2 cams on e85 making 516whp / 419tq on a stock block and I love it. I'm glad I went with the GTX over the MHi because my top end power is great!

Sounds like a fun set up, what RPM do you hit 20 psi? And peak boost?
