My Evo survived a cross-country trip too.
 

I went from Richmond, Virginia to San Diego, California in 3700 miles and 7 days.

Started off from where I picked the car up from an eBay buy, then headed to southwestern VA to check out where I'm going for AIT, then to KY to where I'm going for BCT. Went straight through to IL to visit a family friend. Headed over to KS through CO (most fun place to drive, I swear). After that I passed through Las Vegas just to check it out on my way to Los Angeles, CA. After that I went down to San Diego where my trip ended.

The good: I won't say how fast I went, but I had some fun with that car.

The bad:
1. Small dings in the paint on the hood and windshield.
2. Big chip in the driver side foot panel thing.
3. Big chip in one of the hood vents.
4. Scraped front bumper on a giant ass ditch (driveway entrance to a gas station). I angled the car and everything, but I still scraped it.
5. Scraped back bumper several times going too fast over speed bumps or huge potholes on the road.
6. Got my oranges confiscated at the Cali agriculture stop. Pretty stupid because the lady waved everyone through except for me.
7. Got pulled over in western VA because I was supposedly going 64 in a 45. Even though I was driving slower than everyone else.
8. Bent quite a few blades on my radiator because of GIANT ASS BUGS.
9. Dropped the dealer badge on my bumper because it slipped out of my hand when I was taking it off.
10. Got a horrible car wash in Cali.
11. Almost got the aftermarket lip confiscated because it was a "weapon."

That's not your radiator...that is your 2nd radiator! ;)

Did you make the trip solo? I'm a big fan of road trips, especially to pick up a new vehicle to get a feel for it. My last road trip was helping a buddy pick up a new 5-series from FL. I flew into Hot-lanta and we drove back to WA. Got there Saturday afternoon and we were back in the office Monday morning! Crazy trip, but a lot of fun. Congrats on the new ride!

*edit, +1 on taping up the front a bit. Too late for your trip but hopefully others will hear the advice.

Yeah, I totally meant intercooler, not radiator haha. Someone else kept calling it that and it got stuck in my head :D

I tried carrying my (rear) lip spoiler as a carryon at LAX lol. Had do to a last-minute shipping lol.

Grats.. hope it gets to the islands safely and give it a proper wash. I don't think I've seen a PB MR yet on the island.. only GSR's.

Haha, that's my grandma's sign. Someone stole her first one so she had to bolt it to the wall through the inside of the garage.

And yeah, it's getting a proper wash, clay, and wax when it gets back to the island. Should actually be here very soon :D

wow, so the paint took some damage eh? how does the bottom rear corner of your rear doors look? it doesn't look like you have the aero package right? did they survive? and where on the hood did you get the chips? in front of the 2 front vents or somewhere behind it? trying to decide clearbra coverage.
