*** Official Plasti Dip/Flat/Matte Evo Xs Thread *** [MERGED]

I want to start a thread dedicated to Evos that are plastidipped. I know people have their opinions about plastidip but I want to start a thread to show off Evo owners creativity and to gather collective data on Plastidip applied on real live cars. Thus showing plastidip durability, installation tips and results from fellow evo owners.{thumbup}

I'll start by showing my personal Evo x which is Completely plastidipped.

The body has been dipped matte white for the past 2+ months and I have recently changed the color of my wheels, trying out different colors and effects from different plastidip products.

here is my evo prepped for dipping

WOOOOW, this is the first completely plastidipped car I've seen and I'm surprised it looks so good. Good job! How many coats did you apply?

Kreeker Aug 17, 2012 01:27 PM

Looks amazing!

This stuff seems too good and too cheap. It will be linked to cancer or aids in a few years.

I applied 4-5 coats around the car. I wish i had another gallon to put more on the doors but I got really good coverage.

Actually.. No reason to be afraid. If you don't like it, it just peels off.

You should deffinately go and see the dipyourcar.com's cars, they recently did Fonzie's car a darker blue that looks really good. Its right on Wiles rd in Coral springs, the guys are really cool and explain the product very well.

The dip covered all the rock chips I had and has protected that part of the rear doors perfectly.

nice I was thinking about plastidipping my wheels.. How does it hold up to weather heat/cold and when washing your car??

phantomx11 Aug 21, 2012 10:11 AM

how easy is it to wash the car though?

SS2EVO Aug 21, 2012 10:21 AM

Isnt it kind of a rubbery finish? How does it do with dirt?

It does very well in extreme heat/cold conditions. idk about you i always hand washed my cars but with a whole body thats dipped, you want to hand wash or go through a touchless car wash to avoid lift at an edge.

its actually easier since you dont have to worry about water spots.

the finish isnt very rubery, just different than the paint. im not sure how to explain it. the dirst just washes off, i had not problems removing dirt from any part of the car.
