I had those damn shipping/rubber spacers still mounted on the front springs even though the dealership did the pre-delivery inspection. Make sure to check each corner and take them out. The factory front struts will make some noise time to time.

well the dealer have just had the car for a second time, and they still can't work it out.

they say the noise is normal, and that other (CT9A) models had the noise as well.

i said BS - since ive had two!

anyways they are refusing to do any more work on it until the noise gets worse.

****wits!

has anyone changed springs and the noise gone away?

Funny thing is, I had Eibach Pro Kit installed and now, no more rattles/clunking at all. I would hear it mostly when going at 10-40mph over some harsh bumps, just like you said, a clunking and rattling. Was so irritating coming from the right front. Now no rattling whatsoever!!!

Yes, I have the X GSR... I would hear the noise on a normal day going to and from work at least 5-7 times each way. I drive 30 miles each way on the highway. As soon as the springs were put on, none. I have been commuting the same way for the past couple weeks without a single rattle.

Without even talking a more firm ride, it's just nice not to have and hear the friggin rattle/clunking. That was the most annoying thing ever.

We checked the suspension before back in February or so.....through a tire shop that I know but couldn't pin point what exactly was causing the rattle.....

Just a straight swap, nothing special or out of the ordinary from other spring installs.... Just got an alignment afterwards, came out very close to factory specs.

I wonder how much of this clunking noise is the springs. It would make more sense for it to be the struts if everything is properly torqued down. The KYBs on the older STis were notorious for clunking because of lubrication issues.

Mine don't clunk, but I only have 1900 miles on the car.

Maybe the springs aren't seated in the pearch properly or the rubber padding is out of position causing some metal to metal contact. My old Evo 8 did have something similar to that and it was the spring not seating properly, likely replacing with aftermarket springs and getting everything where it is supposed to be would resolve the issue.

I'm afraid I have the same exact same issue... GSR

I do not think it is springs - my mate changed out his spings the other day on his EvoXgsr and it still does it...
