Clunk from front Driver, new pads and rotors

I changed my front pads and rotors over the weekend and once I got down the road I started to hear a knocking or clunking noise from the driver side front brakes. It goes away when I press on the brakes - but comes back immediately.

I've had the brakes pads out a couple times now trying to find if anything was caught or done incorrectly. Shims are good, and pistons seems to work fine. I can "slightly" wobble the outer pad when it's in the caliper. I've checked for wheel wobble and re-tightened my caliper. I also made sure the dust shield wasn't bent.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could it be your axle? Maybe CV joint failing? Try checking inner and outter CV joints for play.

It's "possible" and I could check tonight, but this wasn't an issue before I changed out my brakes and started immediately after.

For our style brakes the pads are completely interchangeable from inside/outside right?

I guess it is possible to design for different inner and outter pads, but I've never seen a set. Too many people wouldn't pay attention and manufacturers will have complaints.

Also, did your steering wheel pull to left when clunk occured? Or your brake pedal vibrate?

To be honest, I'm still not 100% sure of the noise you're describing. Would help if you have a sound clip and pictures of your wheel and brake/rotor.

Steering wheel doesn’t pull, and the noise goes away when the brake is pressed.

The sound is like something is hitting on each full rotation of the wheel. If I weave back and forth while driving it will sometimes stop for that duration and then start again like something is loose, otherwise it’s pretty consistent.

Edit: I’ve also turned the rotor by hand with the wheel off and am unable to recreate the feel or sound when I’m not driving.

How is this a clunk sound? Are you getting a wobble sound?

I've attached a bunch of pictures that I took and an audio clip. I tried swapping the spring clip and also put the metallic indicator pads on the outside of both rotors.

Nothing jumps out from these pictures. Is your wheel well plastic guards and suspension normal? Nothing with polished or shiny parts? No signs of rubbing on tire or rim?

Everything of that nature seems fine. I don't see any kind of rubbing anywhere.

I just can't think of anything in the pictures that can make that knocking noise. If anything else pops in mind, I'll be back. Very strange.
