$300 a good price to powder coat stock wheels?

I am thinking about powder coating the GSR stockers. Found a local place that does it in 3 day for $300.

Is that a good deal?

Thats an average price.. U can buy XXR rims for 500.00... Maybe buy new rims? Shrug. I have looked at powder coating the stockies but people say it weakens the rim and will bend much more easy. So 300 for power coat that will chip and maybe weaken ur rim.. 500 for half decent rims.. Or 30 bucks for some spray paint and primer.. Just wet sand and ur good to go.

around my way it use to be 300 now its 350-400. I've had my wheels powder coated for years. the place that did it said they have a 300 psi chip rate which i assume is pretty decent. I've had no problem at all. Also i don't see how it would weaken a wheel. They sand blast the original paint off the wheel they spray the powder on them then bake them. Maybe if they sand blast the wheels to hard. idk how hot the heater gets when they bake the the paint on

I wouldn't ever use XXRs. There have been quite a few stories on here lately about them cracking/breaking.

I would just get them painted.

Well I decide to go with the powdercoating and I am picking them up later today. I will post a pic to share how they turned out. I went with matte black.

Pics? I'm about to do the same thing but a place here charges 125 a wheel and it seems about right from what everyone is saying.

Links to stories? Just curious.

I was quoted $50 per wheel a while back. Ended up giving my wheels to a supplier of ours at work and the dude did them in mat black for free. That was pretty cool.

XXR's are just fine... lots of Evo drivers have them with ZERO issues.

Most powders have a cure temperature between 350-400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-20 minutes.
