A tpms solution proven to work
#33
I have a programmer tool, but I am up in Canada. It probably doesn't make sense (or cents) to ship the sensors up here just to program them.
Having said that, any Canadians out there: I've tested this on the 2012 Lancer GT if anyone is interested.

Any vendor could make a lot of people very happy if they bought a programmer and sold pre-programmed sensors. The buyer would just have to get their current codes read and send the values, along with their VIN, to said vendor who would probably make back the cost of the programmer very quickly.
Just sayin'.

I am willing to buy the programmer and send out programmed sensors. Pm me if there is lots of interest I will go buy the programmer and a bunch of sensors. Probably need 3 people to make it worth it. I live in NH but have access to cheap shopping through my company.

If anybody in Canada is interested; I can purchase the sensor and pick up locally, then program them and ship them to you so you don't need to buy the programmer and saves on the 2 way shipping.
I can accept VISA and MC. These would likely ship to you inside of 2 weeks ARO.
Canadian Tire can read your old sensors for you. So I just need those and the VIN.
Message me if you are interested.

Likewise here - If you ship the sensors to me you will pay two way shipping.
We purchase other stuff from Myers so it's no trouble to add a couple of sensors to our orders.
Maybe we can set up a listing of those who have the programmer and where they are located so forum members can get them from someone close to them.
Vin isn't really necessary, all I do is search for "evo x for sale" on google and pull up a vin, that is how I did mine with a 2011 vin. TPMS ID's are needed for sure.
I have 16 sensors coming in next week - 8 are accounted for some local guys and 4 will be going on another set of rims for me (if I can find a set of Enkei's cheap).

So I am one of the buyers of these sensors, but apparently I have no clue where to get the sensor IDs read and neither does any of the tire places I call around here. I called a pep boys and they suggested I needed to go to the dealer or remove the tires from the rim and have the codes read off the back of the sensor. Is there any other way to do this? I dont want to pay pep boys $40 to have my tires taken off and put back on. Thanks!

Worst case, a Mitsu dealer can read the codes (without removing the tire) since it's the codes that they download to the ECU when you swap wheels.
Note: if you search and find claims from me that a Bartek 400 can read our codes, that turned out not to be true. It was a Mitsu tool that we used; they got it when the only Mitsu dealer in Iowa City went belly-up.

I'm pretty sure that my sensors were read with a barteq tool not sure which model though. No tire removal needed.
When the sensors are read you need an 8 digit code, all the ones I have seen have letters and numbers in the 8 digits.

I use an Ateq VT30. Just about any Ateq/Bartec/Snap-on TPMS 3 will read the sensor ID's. The problems lies with the fact that nobody can reprogram our cars other than the dealer through OBDII. Thats why this method works really well.
