Wheel Offset vs. Wheel Bearing Health

Wheel Offset vs. Wheel Bearing Health
From what I've read on forums, buying wheels with stock offset is best for the health of the wheel bearings and any offsets lower than stock (if one were to try to fit bigger wheels) would accelerate bearing wear.
What about wheels with higher offsets? Take for example 18x8, +45 vs. 18x8.5, +38, which is stock size. Would using a higher offset accelerate or prevent wheel bearing wear?

cumulative offset, (from a use of spacers) will affect wheel bearing wear. How much? Well, that's the question, and will depend (somewhat) on tire choice, camber, driving style, etc. The Evo X wheel bearing seems to be more robust than those of earlier versions, but will wear out over time, like anything else. Here's the good news, a new hub/ bearing is about $200 and putting it in is not too difficult. Will a bearing with high camber, low offset at the racetrack last as long as stock set up. No, but swapping them out after a few years won't kill you either.
