Hotchkis Rear Sway Bar and Endlink Review

This is my review of the Hotchkis Rear Sway Bar and the Hotchkis Heavy Duty Rear End Links.

Hotchkis Rear Sway Bar
Bar Diameter: 32mm
Sway Bar Type: Hollow
Adjustable: 3-Way

The Hotchkis rear sway bar is massive in diameter compared to our oem rear sway bar. The bar came neatly packaged, securing the sway bar with expanding foam. The sway bar included the mounts, bolts, washers, bushings, grease, instructions, and a checksheet for all the parts. Unfortunately, I was not able to weight the bar and parts.

I purchased the Hotchkis over the Whiteline due to the following reasons:
1) Past Experience
2) Price
3) Hotchkis is local to me (Free Will Call)
4) Bushing stay rings are welded onto the sway bar

Heavy Duty Endlinks
Configuration: Heim Joint
Adjustable: Yes

These endlinks are definitely more expensive then the competitors but there is a reason for it. The endlinks themselves are constructed of two Heim Joint Rod Ends. They came neatly packaged with all necessary materials. I'll let the pictures do the explaining for this part.

Overall Impression:
Installation was fairly straight forward for the sway bar. The only minor issue I had was that I had to remove the exhaust heat shield underneath the trunk to fit the sway bar. I have had no issues with unusual noises, binding, or clunking (I pre-loaded the suspension before tightening down the end links bolts to the sway bar and the control arm.)
The rear feels notably stiffer but I have only been driving on the street back and forth to work. Overall, I am very happy with the build quality of the bar and endlinks. I have had great past experiences with my hotchkis parts and their customer service ( I sheared a sway bar bracket and they replaced it very quickly for free). The price is the only con I can think of.
I'll update the post once I get some track time later this year.

Great write up. 32mm bar is a monster. How difficult was it to snake the bar around the lines shown in this pic? Maybe the amount of space is deceiving because of the picture angle.

It's very easy. There's more room than it seems. Took me all of 2 minutes to install my hotchkis rsb

It's very easy as long as you remove the stock exhaust heat shield.

I know it's an old thread... but I just bought the exact same Hotchkis sway bar and end links and measured the weights. Here are the numbers if anyone is interested (rounded to the nearest 5 grams):

End links including bolts and nuts
  • Stock: 480g
  • Hotchkis: 455g
Sway bar
  • Stock: 3950g + 290g brackets
  • Hotchkis: 5200g + 450g brackets

Thanks for recording the weights. Please check back in with driving balance feel both on and off-throttle when you can.

Just wondering if there has been more you can add to this review considering the time youve had with the rsb plus end links. Please! Thank you!

Can you snap a pic of the rear underside of your car?
