This doesn't look (or feel) right!

I just had Centric rotors installed in the front and StopTech pads all around. I've driven less than 200 miles with them on the car and last night I noticed the brakes sounded and felt weird when braking. When I brake I can hear a thudding sound (thats the best way I can describe it) and its like I can feel it through the seat. The car doesn't shake or anything though. When I checked the rotors I noticed a strange mark. Anyone know what happened here?

Did you park the car with the brakes hot as hell?

I don't think so... I haven't even done spirited driving recently that would merit using the brakes so much. Plus the way to my house takes a couple minutes of slow driving. I would assume that would give them time to cool off.

They need to be bedded. Thats pad material on the rotor.

Dude, bed in your brakes.

The bumping or thudding your noticing is the pad skipping over built up pad material or transfer film. Either they got hot and then parked with the pad sitting in one spot or they were not bedded in properly.

You can rebed them by lightly hand sanding the pad transfer film off the outside/inside rotor surfaces. At that point its like they are new and you can rebed them. Let us know if that works out.
