Get ready to spend $$$$. Go with either twin or triple disk clutch. Carbon clutch will be the best for drag.

I've heard giong with a street dick (not a puck) and heavy pressure plate is the way to go. Going with an expensive twin or triple disc set-up is not always the best route to take, especially when $ comes into factor. Transfer cases are always at risk, I would ask someone who has experience with EVO's and clutches/drivetrains fro their professional opinion.

How much power? If you want around 350 to 400 whp I would say save your money and go with the ACT set up. If you want more power then go with a twin disk Cusco.

Kind of drastic not knowing what his intentions are if you ask me, but of course, you didn't. Anyway, there are other great low cost alternatives to spending 1500 on a new clutch and fly wheel. You can go ACT, for under 500 with no flywheel, if your current unit is not to badly burnt. There are others aswell, just do some research. Before you look, have a firm idea as to what type of power you realistically want coming out of your power train.

Clutch itself isn't too bad. It's the labor that could hurt your pocket especially if you buy the wrong clutch set up for your driving demand and have to replace it again.
Twin or triple are the best if you want to keep the stock clutch feel. Otherwise, the clutch pedal can get stiffer with stronger single disk set up. But, you should also be well experienced with driving these clutches (Twin or Triple) cause if you do drop launches, you can destroy the tranny or the transfer case since theses clutches will grab hard.
Personally, the stock clutch is stiff enough for my little legs and I can barely handle it during rush hour traffic.

Make sure to call and ask lots of questions before investing in a clutch.

the ACT clutch will hold up to about 500lb or torque so unless your a really hard core drag racer this is all you need and it will run just a tad over 500 bucks instead of dropping 1500 into the exedy twin or other type of clutch (they can run way over 2000 bucks)

Ur talking about a 1K difference between a good act unit and a twin plate. Pluss about 500 for labor thats alot. As for tranny probs, I blew my tcase with a stock clutch in. Statistics will show, that this cars holds up well to normal driving, but there are a good # of people including myself, that have blown clutches and t cases with out abusing the car. In my humble opinion, it's a crap shoot.

For me, I have to either stay with stock or find a stronger better clutch with stock pedal feel or lighter if possible. I can't handle stiff clutch pedal since one time I had to exit the damn freeway cause of cramps in my leg during busy rush hour.
I have not heard any other clutch that can handle lot of power with stock or lighter clutch feel except the twin plates.

Bottom line, know what you're getting cause once installed, you just can't say can I try the other clutch instead. It would be nice if we can try out the clutch before we buy it like a test drive for new cars.

act is very nice and for the money you cant beat it. the exedy twin is a very good clutch as well, just more expensive. if you have the money look into the exedy line.those are the only two companies i would look at.

The ACT would be a good clutch for you.
