Why do so many people debage?

How come so many people debage their EVOs? I mean, the USDM badge in the corner of the trunk isn't so great, but I really like the JDM Evolution trunk badge. You know, the one that spans pretty much the entire width of the trunk. I think it looks cool...

So...what's the point of debaging other than to maybe keep the cops off your tail?

The car has a much cleaner look without any badges (in my opinion anyway). Its all about preference.

It was something to do. I kept the evolution on mine. Yes, it does look cleaner.

Ya. Debadging really doesn't affect the cop factor. You woul have to take your wing off for that. It just makes the trunk look better. It's really a matter of opinion. I kept mine on until I saw another one that had been debadged, and I like it, so I took mine off too.

it's a fad similar to when it was cool to walk around with your jeans rolled up.

I left the badging on. Keeps it original. Kind of like when someone restores an antique or muscle car. You want every original detail.

It is a free and easy way of personalizing your car. "I want to be different, just like everybody else".

I only took off the evolution lettering. Kept the Lancer badge on to represent. Who doesn't know that it's an EVO? And those who don't know should keep guessin

B/c badges in general are "ghey"

They are free advertising for auto manufacturers
