Please help! need professional advise

Just this friday, the day before my B-day, this lady (F*&^ing retart) re-ends my EVO. I was at a complete stop on a turn-a-about that connects to road. She slams into me, must have been going 40mph before she hit the brakes. Her explaination is that she was just not looking to see if there was a car at the end of the turn. My rear bumper is gone that needs to be replaced. The trunk is pushed in and my trunk hood is also bent. I look in the trunk and you can see that the cardboard panel dosn't fit anymore. I am so pissed off, that car was only four months old. Anyways, I need some advise from a professional evo mechanic or someone who is extremely aware of the structure of the evo. By my description can anyone tell me there is structual damage to my car. I don't trust these's insurance people, they always try to jerk you around. This is a brand new car and if there is structual damage, I deserve a new car. Please help!

From: Danville, CA (it really is all about nor cal)
you wont get a new car unless its totalled........and with a 4 month old evo, worth ballpark 30k, chances are it doesnt sound like 80% of the value to fix it....(it takes 80% damage costs of the total value of the car to total a car)........so you will get to go shopping. buy yourself some nice lip kits and a new CF hood or something, ebcause they prolly aint much more than stock.

im no authority / mechanic. just my .02

Hey, thanks for the encouragement. Ya, I know about the Total thing. See, the thing is, I'm not sure if there is structural damage because the trunk is now pushed in. If there is structural damage then I'm F*&k. I'm just hoping someone can give me a third party info on the damage and tell me whether or not that trunk has significant structural damage. I don't know if the car will ever be the same. It just hurts because its only 4 months old.

That sucks man and happy birthday.

If you do a search I think just a bit over a year ago a fellow board member also got rear end and the damage seams to be as much as yours. He posted pictures when the car was getting fixed so you can understand the process and find a body shop that has the background to fix the car. Body shops are amazing and they can really fix the damage and the car drives like it has when new. I'm lucky enough to have as awsome shop right in my town that does perfect work.

Again good luck sorry to read this.

Eric
