Finally got me one
I hear a sound when I let off the clutch and the car is in neutral. It's very subtle but when you depress the clutch and release a couple of times, you can def tell that there's a noise. Now I'm obsessed on whether it's normal. Anyone else get this noise from their '05?
Someone said it might be the xfer case and if that's normal I'm cool. But if it isn't, why would it sound like that. I haven't dropped the clutch to drag or anything crazy. I did however shift quickly when I was showcasing the car's power to my friends. I'm gonna go out on a limp as say that this car was made for speed so why would speed shifting cause a noise.
Argh, I need an answer cuz it's driving me crazy.

thanks for all the replies all, yeah i was considering changing my fluids. i do have the remainder of the original owner's pitpass for oil change though. i just finished swaping the oem gauge and radio locations it was a b@@@@ but i finally got it and it looks good maybe ill post some pics
Well, with the Evo it makes so many different noises that I couldn't say for sure, but if it's that the throw out bearing is loose like on mine, it just means you get an annoying noise untill someone gets in an replaces it...at least, that's what I've been told, and nothing has gone wrong with it for like 10k since i first heard it, and sometimes it even goes away for awhile....so I dont know about normal, or bad, for sure, but I think it's OK and won't blow up your car
