Quick Question from new Evo owner
Quick Question from new Evo owner
Just picked up an '05 Tarmac Black Evo VIII last week. My previous car was a '98 Integra GS-R, so there are definately some differences between the two. My question is: when laying off the throttle in 5th, from 3300 RPM down to about 2700 RPM the motor seems to change its tune, it sounds alot louder (not as "smooth" as the rest of the power band). I was just wondering if this is normal? I searched around and couldnt find an answer to my question. TIA for the help.
im at about 900 miles or so. Nothing really above 5000 revs. Its tough to explain the noise... as far as lag goes... im not on the throttle at all... when on the throttle through this rev range the car sounds fine. For all i know this could just be the way the car sounds. Thanks for the replies so far... anyone else?

i dont know about an evo, but in my car, the aftermarket exhaust gets louder when i let off the pedal high in the power band. i think it has something to do with back pressure........
i was thinking back pressure. from the drivers seat it sounds like its coming from the engine bay (which very well could be exhaust related). I dug a little deeper and found a thread with something similar and everyone claims it is normal. I guess im not looking for a specific cause, just trying to see if its "ok". Thanks for the help. Anyone else have anything? Thanks.
just get used now to the car making funny noises, squeaks, rattles ect. i have 10k on mine, and now i have this suspension clunck, but it only happens sometimes. i cant pinpoint it, and so they cant fix it. i think it is the strut. it happens, and this car sometims has a mind of its own. good luck, and conrats on the purchase.
