What exactly is the Flash? ECU Flash? Is this just getting it tuned or what

 

its basicly a map flash of the ecu..it alters preameters. What id like to know,
is the flash effective at WOT?

 

so like increasing the rev limit? what else?

 

basically its a re-tune of your engine by just changing settings on the stock ECU (as opposed to a piggyback ECU or standalone like the AEM EMS)

and yes they are most effective @ WOT... a good flash will remove the stock boost taper and change air/fuel ratios so the engine produces more power, and usually they won't increase the rev limit unless you specify that you want it raised (a few hundred rpms wont really make a difference in power output anyways, and you cant really rev more without a fully built engine)

most every engine modification other than a turboback exhaust wont produce horsepower gains unless you get the engine re-tuned
