Need help buying/deciding between two 2g's

Okay, for those of you who read or posted on my last thread, which was about me getting a IX, well I've made my decision to get a 2g eclipse.. for now..Well there is this one near my area, and it has all the work pretty much done for me and the guy says it's an RS-t but I dunno if that has a 4G63 and he said that he installed a hahn converted turbo kit on it. It looks pretty good on the outside and in, but some of that stuff seems like gimmicks to me, but he didn;t really tell me about it performance-wise.

Now there is this GSX that is 32k miles away from me, and has turbo and is AWD, but it is an automatic.

http://cars.com/go/search/fs_search_...l&aff=national

Okay, now Im pretty sure that my $7/an hour job can take care of either one of thesebut I need some help, and thanks for you guys' advice for me to start out with a 2g =].

This is an Evo website. You need to now go ask that question on a DSM website.

There is no such thing as an RS-T, so that's a crappy base model RS with a turbo kit added. This means it has the Neon 420a engine, and if it's not rebuilt with forged internals, then you can't run much boost and will only be as powerful as a stock 2G GST/GSX.

I don't think $7/hr a job can come close to affording a 2g. They are old, they are prone to breaking, they require a lot of maintenance, and they get crankwalk.

hes got his parents to back him up, remember. he should be fine.
and i would stay away from the first one. it does seem like it was the regular rs with the neon engine, and it was turbo charged. look at the rear drum brakes.

He replied to me with this (the blue eclipse)

justin~
yeah that is cool that this could be your first car. i have in the
trunk 2
kenwood typhoon 12 in subs and an autiobahn A4002T amp. that is wraped
in a
custom box. this car is hot. did you see the vido of my car??? here
is a
link http://www.flowlighting.com/images/F...ng_Inferno.mov
my car is (of course) the blue eclipse. you can see how the underglow
kit
works. its boam. it turns millions of colors. deffinetly talk to
your
parents but will they let you get a car at such a young age??? anyways
the
price is 10500 so ask them and i would be more then happy to set up a
time
when you and your mom or dad can come and look at the car. ohhh i
almost
forgot, the dents, there are none. there is just this sopt on the rear
bumper that needs to be refinished. it is too bumpy for my taste.
besides
that the car is sound. i have a brand new clutch in it. just switched
out
at 81k miles. the turbo is awesome and i have a new set of injectors
that
are still in the box. if you want those they are 200 bucks. those are
335cc injectors. (stock 190cc) yeah just give me a call if you want
to set
something up. (925)768-5463

Avoid that POS like the plague. Even a 2G GSX wouldn't be worth 10,500.

There is no KBB price for a POS that has been turbo'd. That thing isn't worth 5k.

If he wants 10,500 now, i seriously doubt he would go for 5. Don't take it. Go for one that hasn't been so modified. GSX's are bad *** cars. I haven't checked the link you posted yet, but I can already say it is a better car than the blue one.

I am currently a GSX owner looking to get a EVO. Like others said go to a DSM forum. DSMtuners.com or DSMtalk.com. If you want my $.02 get a gsx. You can easily afford a 95 or 96 gsx. The FWD cars suck. They have no traction on the street and the rain is horrible. NEVER buy a 420A and plan on turboing it or already turboed they are *****es to work on and can not handle much power through the trannys and CV chafts. The 4G63 is the way to go if you want a turbo. The AWD is a completly differant world. So I would look around and find a good GSX. Look on the forums too you can find them there for decent prices. I MUST warn you, be prepared to work on the car, it WILL break.
