YUP!

Thats true the "the child would not be able to drive in the evo because of all the shaking and jerking that the car does.it will shake the baby to much." Other than that, if you don't let the child drive and as long as she is a passenger placed in the proper child seat she should be fine. As long as the one whom is driving is doing so with the child in mind, she should be okay. It shouldn't be as bad, as when people "bounce" the baby all to hell on their knee and think that it's okay. (I gotta work on sentence structure)

Should be fine. My kids are not that young (4,5,7) and now they love to ride in my car and not my wife's Tahou.

Anyways thats just my .02.

You know Recaro makes car seats for babies. They are very nice and cumfy. If you want I could get you some. The Recaro baby car seats come with 4 pt harnesses and a surrounding head area with extra cushioning for the babies head to stay stable. Very safe and very cumfy when drving a racecar.

hmm, I never thought about it because my son was 3 when I bought my evo.
I wounder if the Lancer es shocks would fit on the Evo, probable not.
I would try to find a less stiff suspension if I was you, and maybe put the stock exhaust back on.

Good Luck and congratulations

My car is not as hevily modded as yours, I have a 9 month old daughter and we didn't have any issues, granted we don't take her in my car very often and we hardly took her driving in my car until she was old enough to completely hold her head up by herself. You could always get a different suspension set up that alows for a better ride. I know people say that that isn't the point of coilovers but I am getting Cusco zero2e's b/c I can make them softer for daily driving with our daughter and stiffer for occational track days.

Actually, I forgot to mention that I asked our doctors before bringing home our daughter from the hospital if the shaking and I told them that the car has a lot more vibrating than a normal car and they told us the same thing that a baby has to be violently shaken for sids, etc to happen. But I'm no doctor just passing what they told me. Good luck and congrats on your baby too

There is no problem with babies in EVO'S. My new born came home in my EVO, Rides in my Evo, and will coninue to ride in my EVO. Dont drive like an idiot and The EVO is just like any other car on the road. we are not driving Formula one cars for gods sake.

Ever wonder why the EVO is equipt with the "Latch" system?

You just have to be careful when you're driving. I have a 3-yr-old daughter, and she complains that my car is too fast and too loud and that she can't sleep (even though I drive carefully with her). She still likes it at times, but mostly prefers my wife's car. It's definitely not a very good daily driver if you're planning on carting the kid around every day. Note that I have the standard Evo suspension, and the MR Bilsteins might be a lot better.

Also -- be really careful with the brakes. I had to hit the brakes relatively hard (maybe about 70%) one time, and the G-forces upset her stomach resulting in a back seat full of vomit (fortunately everything cleaned up ok and she was fine).

On stock suspension you should be ok. Avoid abrupt inputs (steering, gas, brakes) in the car and the baby will be fine. Most of the shaking from mounts is dissipated by the time it gets to the back seat. The foam in Evo backseats is also very soft. The exhaust is louder in the back seat and may prove a problem. My 1 year old son can still sleep in my car though with a 3" TBE.

That said I had the very same concerns as you with SIDS and Shaken Baby syndrome, etc. I didn't want to hurt him in any way, shape or form. Honestly though, I would try and have them ride in another car for at least the 1st 6-9 months. This is my opinion based on when my wife and I began to let him ride in my car.
