No kidding huh? I'm half tempted to ask for a new car flat out, but that might be a bit too much (or is it? ) and they say that this wouldnt have caused any internal damage to the engine.

Edit: Removed stupid comment

At anyrate, I have to also admit that I have never heard of a "camshaft blade"...anyone else hear of this? Maybe I'm just a tool?
You should talk to the service manager and then ask to make you an appointment with the district manager/service represenative (I forgot what his title is called... the guy directly from Mitsubishi, not the dealership. Can someone chime in on this?) and ask him to replace the motor. You have a better chance of getting stuff done if he OK's it. You'd be wasting your time to ask the dealership's shop to do it.

Wow...all I can say is...wow.

See this? Thats God laughing at me...ok maybe thats a bit dramatic, but check it:

So, I called the dealer to verify that I can pick up my car...sure, np, its all good to go. I go and pick it up and while he's doing something, I'm flipping through the notes and there's something about a broken bolt.

Turns out, while reattaching the AC line to the engine block the tech put so much torque on the bolt he literally snapped the f*cker in half. So the mgr tells me I have to come back and have them drill it out and replace it. WTF right?

But, thats not it. I get in the car and there's sh*t all over my brand new floor mats...like the white sawdust sh*t they put on the floor to soak up the oil and grease...so I knock it off...and uncover a big freakin grease stain. Amazing right? So I make sure to mention it...but thats not it my friends, for I am the one man, one car soap opera.

I get in the car, turn it on, warm it up and pull away. Not more then say 100ft from the dealership it pops the "Service Engine Soon" light. So I turn the car around and go back and make mention of this and of course I have to leave my car AGAIN at the dealership.

So technically, counting the original issue, the CEL issue and the fact I have to bring the car back for the bolt issue, that makes three appointments at the service shop in exactly 9 days of owning the car.

Now, after replacing the timing belt, the balance belt and the crankshaft blade I am dying to know what tripped the CEL. What could have compiled so much information so fast that the CPU immediately flipped the switch. I'm just praying it wasnt a misfire or anything...I mean, what could have happend in the space of 100ft after the timing belt was replaced.

Any thoughts...sure as hell couldnt have been emissions.

Ok, end rant....this drama king is going to have a beer.

That's a major bummer. Sorry to hear about the lame experience at the dealership. Besides my own less disasterous experiences with dealerships and auto repair shops, your story strongly reminds me why I'm paranoid about letting other people work on my car.

LT, what's the latest on your ride? Did they tap out the bolt? Did the noise from the belts go away?
I finally took my IX in and it ended up being what I said in my first post #2. It was the Tensioner bearing, there over nighting a new tensioner to be replaced tomorrow, under warrenty.
Sorry to hear about all your bad experiences, with the dealer. Hopfully they make it right for you.
