just a quick question..
just a quick question..
well heres the deal, the wifey is picking up a new IX and only wants to add a BOV, Buschur drop in filter, and exhaust.. I was wondering if that's going to require any type of special tuning or flash to run good? Right now I own an 05 S2k but I've owned a few DSM's in the past and it was never a problem but with the technology in the new ones im not soo sure.. well thanks for your help!!

dont get a bov, if you want it for the sound the drop in will enhance it a little but as for me I got the HKS rs intake and it is freaky loud and i love it. With a drop in your car should be good but an intake will require flash/tune.
my ecu is in the mail right now getting it flashed by Al at Dynoflash I will get it back on thursday and I will post on how good it came out.
A tune/flash will have your car running properly and also give you better has mileage and most importantly some more ponies.

dont "NEED" a tune for a drop in filter. Why are you going to buy a BOV if all you plan on doing is a drop in and exhaust. NO NEED for it. you factory DV is good up to 25psi, sometimes more. Save the money and get the tune......F@#$ the BOV.

the stock bov makes the sound but its not loud, but its still good,
I will take the stock one any day over an aftermarket one.
I really don't like to get any attention while driving the car, especially cops here in Cali.
just tell her it will ruin the car, and that the stock one is a very good one.

I got a K&N cone filter from AMS for $60 just because me and my wife love the sound and had no intentions to mess with the stock recirculating BOV. You could alwas pull the top and air filter off your air box and take a quick spin around the block if you want to hear what an intake will sound like. I don't recomend driving without your filter more than once for any extended period. I did it to show my wife that the stock sounded just fine and a cone filter would give her the sound. You wil probably lose a couple horsepower with the cone filter if your not tuning it.
