I guess what I was trying to say without coming out and saying it is if you're 16 and in high school with a part time job, good luck making the, let's say $500 a month payment on the EVO and the at least $200 a month insurance payment on the car. That assumes you put a good amount on top as a down payment. Your thread is all about 'your money' and how it's all about you as far as paying for the car and insurance. It will be very difficult for a high school part-time worker to afford such a car and the associated costs (not to mention 93 octane gas). If you have somebody helping you with the costs, then that is different, and there is nothing wrong with that, just let us know so we can figure that in our opinions as to how much you should be expected to spend on the car and other costs.

Ohh, ok, so you have some to put down on it. I wasn't trying to bash or anything, I just wanted to know what kind of loot you were going to be able to work with. If you can do this on your own at your age (and it sounds like you can), that's great. Having some $$ up front will def. help you lower the monthly payments. Sounds like you have thought this out and have a good idea of the costs involved. Good luck with it and let us know how it all works out!!

Although I hate to say it.....but at your age, I'd try to get onto somebody's insurance. It's going to be really expensive to get it insured youself, especailly in Jersey. Do that for a couple of years and then try to get your own policy. But first do a couple of online quotes by yourself and see what they offer. It will probably be stupid expensive, but possibly Esurance or one of those online companies may have good rates.
