im my quest seeking knowledge on modifications, i would like to know how a s-afc works? what does it exactly does it do to make the car perform better?

SAFC is a piggyback fuel controller. If you added an intake and/or exhaust to your car the SAFC will help you get a few more ponies. Do not try to substitute the SAFC for a real ECU. For simple "tuning" (notice the quotations) of the fuel curve the SAFC will be ok but a reflash or a real ECU will be needed to adjust the ignition curves.
