1.2 bar on Evo IX !?
just make something. all the parts can be had at home depot for under $20 with a gauge and valve. just get a 2.5" plumbing coupling(comes with clamps on it), a PVC cap to fit in it, a gauged valve from the air compressor section, and a male air compressor fitting to go on that. drill a hole in the cap that is a tad smaller than the valve, screw it into the hole(it'll go, it's plastic)with some teflon tape or paste on it, and voila! put 22 psi of air through the system and listen. open the throttle body and listen as well, sometimes you'll have leaks from EGR lines and such. you'll probrably want to pinch off the boost control line coming off the compressor and sometimes(depending if the valves are opened/closed when the engine is ogg)pinch the breather hose off the valve cover. a good tip for IC hose is to use T-bolts for sure, but if not, some hairspray on the inside of the coupling makes it seal much better.
I just got my MR last week. After reading this post, I went out this morning and
do some test.
2nd - max 1.2
4th - max 1.2 tapper to 1.0
5th - spike to 1.3, then tapper to 1.0 then slow move up to 1.2 then tapper back to 1.0
6th - spike to 1.4, then tapper to 1.0
no good place to pull the car hard in lower gear, all test was done in highway.
I was hoping to see more 1.4 and 1.5 in 4th and 5th...
did mitsui go soft with boost to protect their car for the 10yr/100,000 warrenty?
do some test.

had a boost leak even though he was getting the boost that he set.
The turbo will just run harder to make the same boost with the leak.
He only found out later when he was working on the car for something else.
E.g. if no leak, the turbo will spin at X rpm to make the boost,
but with a small leak, the turbo will spin at 1.3X rpm to make the same boost.

As of now, in 3rd gear im peaking at 1.3 bar for about 1/4 a second. It then drops down to 1.1, and slowly goes to .9 when i reach redline.
2006 IX MR.
I thought i got a lemon, but to see other IX's with the same boost issue as me, i see that maybe the mitsubishi people made it like this

My stock IX averages 1.2-1.3, with the ocassional spike to 1.35~1.38 kg/cm2 at WOT.
So that's roughly 18.5 psi average to 19.3-19.6 psi at WOT depending on gear selection, load, and throttle. From everything I've read, it's normal (and quite frankly close enough to 20psi to not warrant concern).

you guys probrably have boost leaks. very common on evo's even if never modified. simple test will tell, and your car will run 10x's better when they're fixed! i had more than one. trust me, with a turbocharged car, boost leak tests should be a part of your regular preventative maintenance routine.
