Don't get an intake not worth the money or hastle.. Stock box can hold a lot of whp no need for that get a down pipe and exhaust

i bet u 10 bucks within 24 hours you'll have 3-4 guys breaching to keep the stock intake (i wont give any names) but if u want it , go for it. it has proven to give you a slight bump in hp once your ecu is tuned. buschur intake is a great bang for ur buck....drop-in filters are also good for the dollar.

Drop in filter, and try removing the airbox cover... I haven't had any problems

Welcome to EvoM. Please use the Newbie Form and do not ask basic questions before searching.

Cookie, it's not wise to drive around with the airbox cover off - that doesn't make any sense. Either get an intake or keep the stock intake fully in-tact.

Not to hijack the thread... but can you explain why it's a bad idea? The complaints I've heard so far:

1) "You'll take in hot air from engine compartment" - Well, the scoop is still there to bring in cold air, not to mention all aftermarket intakes are designed to take in supposed "hot" air as well

2) "You'll get water/dirt into the intake" - It's no worse than all other aftermarkets

3) "You'll take in too much air and without a tune, you'll run lean" - This is the only valid point I've heard... but it unfortunately doesn't hold any water until someone datalogs the difference and proves it to me...

I don't have a CEL or any drivability issues... and certainly being able to hear the spool up is a nice side-effect.
