What to mod on 03 to = IX HP

Wondering if anyone knows what mods are needed on a 03 so that it has as much whp as a stock IX.

exhaust, mbc and tune should get you there...

Why does one need a mbc? Doesn't a flash set your boost? I guess if the IXs used more boost than the 8 it would make sense but I thought they were the same

you can control boost via the flash but its much smoother with a mbc...

Smoother meaning less spikes, better response... I know you can hold boost longer instead of getting a taper with a mbc and of course set higher than stock levels but I thought that was about it.
