Questions about storage

I recently got into a major car accident while at work. I will be down for a while, and I won't be driving. I want to prep the evo to be stored for 5-6 months until I can walk/drive again. What would I need to do to protect it maintenance-wise. Do I need to drain the oil? I plan on unhooking the battery. Any other suggestions?

The only other alternative is to let my wife drive it once a week to keep it running good. She can drive it fine, but it still worries me when someone else is behind the wheel of my baby.

I put my car away every November through March. This is now the third winter. All I do is unhook the battery and put the right amount of fuel stabilizer in it. Then I change the oil the same day I bring it out as condensation can build up. That's it and it always starts right up and runs fine. Some people might suggest jacking it up to prevent flat spots in the tires but I never had a problem with that at all.

I appreciate the advice. That sounds like a safe way to do it. What kind of fuel stabilizer do you use and how much?

Exactly. I do the same thing every year.

This year I just topped off the tank however, and didn't use any fuel stabilizer. Going to see how things work out in the spring.
