If you really want that Pssssh sound just put a good aftermarket intake on. You will really be able to hear the stock one much better. I love the way mine sounds with my HKS RS intake. I know most ppl hate to get rid of the stock airbox until after 400+hp, but mine was already gone when I bought my car used. So, I just swapped the crappy weapon r intake with the HKS. I am waiting to get tuned after I get my other bolt-ons.

The Phish sound on an EVO is loud and gets annoying very fast

I think I have a good solution. No drivability issues and all of the benefits you want

kidding right? Running without a bov or diverter valve will cause compressor surge and probably destroy your turbo. Evo's are not fond of vent to atmosphere valves because the air has already been metered by the MAF. If you dont recirculate the air back into the intake then you will have some drivability issues. Some say they dont care the pshhh is worth it to them. I would say people that know anthing about evo's get over this, and run an OEM diverter valve from a IX or a 1G, or aftermarket that is recirculated.

I did see some joke responses but it didnt look like the original question was a joke. More importantly what I saw was a new Evo owner asking a question in the newbie forum and a joke response that could have been taken for fact.
