rear diff fluid change

I just went to my mitsu dealer to find out how much it would cost to change my rear diff fluids. It's a arm and a leg. I heard that you need a special tool if you want to change your rear diff fluid yourself. Has anyone tried to change it themselves or do you really need a special tool.

Needing a special tool is nonsense. Costing an arm and a leg is doubly nonsense.

Read the how to on this topic.

I had my nephew do it. Get the fluid, and you need to buy a $5 manual pump deal (looks like a basketball pump) and squirt it in there till it overflows-done.

Make sure the car/diff is level when you refill.
