Question Carbon buildup

I understand these cars run rich from the factory.......i also understand after a tune its likely youl run even more rich...but its seems like everyday im wiping an excess amount of carbon buildup from the inside of the tailpipe, ive heard of possible issues with carbon buildup in the cylinders. Eveyone says its always a little safe to run on the rich side, just in case of some knock. What do you guys think? Is anyone else seeing this excess buildup?

Actually after a tune you should run a little more lean than you did while un-tuned at WOT.

Factory these cars run at like 10.0 and after a tune you should be in the 11.0-11.5 range.

FYI - It's a powerful internal combustion engine that burns Gasoline, You will always have carbon build up. Just have to get used to it.

Markley: How were you determining that you were hitting 8.0? I though that none of the gauges went that low. And, yes that is really rich!

My AEM Gauge goes --- it' so rich (Still un-tuned until the 8th)

Roadspike: No I do not have a VTA BOV! Still stock until next week when I am getting the AGP IC, Nisei IC pipes, and Forge RS BOV.

MY car is just really rich in it's stock form (Well I have a TBE and K&N Drop in). But it's getting tuned on the 8th once I get the clutch installed, GSC Cams, Buschur Intake, Etc.

Well I guess that was a bit sassy of me

That is pretty darn rich, I guess the benefits to having a WB and time like me is the willingness to do your own tune. Only wish i had started sooner BTW that mod list looks nice hope the power comes through for you with your tune.
