Sup everyone!

I just joined the site cause after going around doing research this forum seems to be pretty helpful. My name is Raul... I'm from Killeen, TX... and I plan on getting an Evo8 hopefully by next February... I know is a long time but I like to plan way ahead of time and do my research and all that good stuff. I was kinda debating wether I wanted the bug-eyed WRX or the Evo but after riding on my neighbor's bone stock Evo I was pretty impressed and hooked and now I can't wait to get it.

If you can afford it go ahead and get a new IX. It will be a highly sought after car. There were'nt that many made. And it's always better to get a new car when it comes to a high performance car. You just dont know how ragged out a car is by the previous owner. It could look fine it could even under a trained mechanic seem fine, but would have been driven very hard. If you can get the IX go ahead and do it. You'll be glad you did.

I wish I could afford the IX! I like how it looks better and from what I've read its a lil faster than the 8. The only time I can afford a IX is after I finish school (which I plan on starting this Aug.) and by then they will be a 4yr old used car.

I've seen a couple of 8's with turbo timer already installed which kinda tells me the owner kinda took care of it with around 30k miles and asking 20k for them.

Turbo timer is really not needed on Evos they are safety nets for extremly warm states....the Evos run a water cooled turbo .....If you can't buy New...be extremyl picky when buying a used one....And I mean extremly picky...a good used one is out there but there are 99 outta 100 that ave been raged out....be warned, Evo owners drive their cars hard......

Thanx for the advice. I sure will be careful when time to buy comes!

I kinda figured no-one would buy an Evo to cruise around and drive it like a Cadillac.
